Disciplinary Actions Against SSPC Certified Contractors

The Disciplinary Action Criteria (DAC) establish procedures and rules for issuing warnings to SSPC certified contractors; putting firms on probation; conducting special unannounced audits; and suspending and revoking certification of contractors when critical faults have been reported and verified. Listed below are recent actions taken against SSPC certified contractors found to be in violation of the DAC or other program requirements.

2009 QP Suspensions and Disciplinary Actions

SSPC has suspended Extreme Coatings' QP 2 Certification effective October 8, 2009 - November 10, 2009 for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

SSPC has suspended Texas Bridge's QP1 and QP2 Certifications effective October 5, 2009, for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

SSPC has suspended Certified Painting Company, Inc.’s QP2 Certification from July 13, 2009 – August 10, 2009 for inadequate QP2 audit findings.

SSPC has suspended Classic Protective Coatings QP1 and QP2 certifications effective August 6, 2009 for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

SSPC suspended Venus Painting Company's QP1 certification effective June 11, 2009 through June 30, 2009. Their QP2 certification was suspended effective June 11, 2009 through July 9, 2009. Both suspensions resulted from inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

Classic Protective Coatings - Has been placed on probation beginning May 29, 2009 - May 29, 2011 for violation of the Disciplinary Action Criteria.

SSPC suspended P.S. Bruckel, Inc. QP1 and QP2 certifications, effective April 23, 2009 through April 30, 2009 for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

Fine Painting, or it's affiliated companies, are ineligible for any of the SSPC QP Certifications for a period of 2 years (March 16, 2009 - March 15, 2011) as a result of a verified critical fault of the SSPC Disciplinary Action Criteria.

SSPC has suspended J & K Painting Corporation QP1 and QP2 certifications effective January 28, 2009 through July 27, 2009 for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

SSPC has suspended Surface Technologies Corporation QP1 Certification effective December 31, 2008 through January 8, 2009 for inadequate audit evaluation item scores.

SSPC is an IACET-approved training provider
