DoD Releases Funding for Coatings Training

SSPC subcontract provides $250,000 for government personnel to take coatings training courses through SSPC.

SSPC announced today that funding is once again available from the US Department of Defense for government personnel interested in coatings training. This funding is provided under a $1 million contract between NACE International and the DoD. SSPC has been subcontracted by NACE to provide the coatings training.

Under the contract, government personnel can register for approved SSPC coatings training course and have the cost for the course covered by the funding.

The new contract is good for 23 months, beginning July 23, 2008.

Courses available under the funding include:

• Fundamentals of Protective Coatings (C-1)
• Fundamentals of Protective Coatings (C-1) Online Course
• Managing Coatings Projects (C-2)
• Managing Coatings Projects (C-2) Online Course
• NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI)
• Concrete Coating Inspector Program (CCI, C-11)
• Abrasive Blasting Program (C-7)
• Airless Spray Basics (C-12)
• Marine Plural Component Program (MPCAC, C-14)
