SSPC Adds New Employees to
Headquarters Staff
Industry Expertise Enhances Position as Leading Coatings Association

SSPC recently added three new employees to its headquarters staff. Heather Stiner joined the Product Development Department as Protective Coatings Professional, Shawn Nedley joined the Marketing Department as Certification Sales & Marketing Specialist and Norm Suzich joined the Product Development Department as Certification Manager. Together, these three new employees represent a total of 35 years' experience in the coatings industry.
Heather Stiner is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Her career includes positions with PPG Industries and Sauereisen Inc., a leading manufacturer of organic linings, ceramic adhesives and refractories. As a chemist in R&D at Sauereisen, Heather was responsible for all organic products manufactured by the company. Heather holds memberships in the American Chemical Society, ASTM, and NACE.
At SSPC Heather will function as a technical expert on protective coatings. She will perform technical writing, contribute articles to the JPCL, respond to scientific inquiries and generally act as a technical resource for members.
Shawn Nedley attended the University of Pittsburgh and had a successful 18-year career with the Sherwin-Williams Company before coming to SSPC. During his tenure with Sherwin-Williams, Shawn managed sales and operations for retail, commercial, industrial and marine facilities in the Pittsburgh District. Most recently, he was the Industrial & Marine Sales Representative for Western Pennsylvania.
At SSPC, Shawn will be responsible for promoting the adoption of SSPC's Certification Quality Programs (Painting Contractor Certification Program) to facility owners. His efforts will also encompass the Protective Coatings Specialist program (PCS) and SSPC's newer inspector certification programs, Bridge Coating Inspector and Concrete Coating Inspector.
Norm Suzich has 8 years of experience in the industrial coatings industry, including quality assurance, quality control, and consulting. He has an MBA in Strategic Planning from Baldwin-Wallace College and an MS in Environmental Science from Duquesne University. He also has certifications in industrial coatings inspection and hazardous waste site operations. As Certification Manager, Norm will be responsible for the management and operations of the SSPC Certification Quality Programs for certified industrial coatings contractors.
