NIOSH Offers Online Hearing Protection Quick Test

MP3 Test Sounds Match ANSI Standard.

NIOSH now offers a hearing protection quick test through its web site. The test sounds are bands of random noise with a center frequency of 1000 Hz. This is the same type of sound used in ANSI S12.6. Both tracks are the same but the second track is 15 decibels louder than the first. The test sounds can be accessed through the web site listed below and also downloaded to perform tests offline with an MP3 player.
