OSHA Global Haz Com Rule Now with OMB
Rule will ensure international consistency.
OSHA's proposed rule Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals moved to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review at the end of May with a goal to have the rule published by October of this year.
The proposed rule will modify the agency's hazard communication standard from performance-oriented to specification-oriented and will include 16 physical hazard classifications and 10 health hazard classifications that will be used to determine label elements and precautionary statements and to create safety data sheets.
