SSPC Painting Manual, Volume 2, 2005 Edition
The new 2005 edition of Systems and Specifications is
a complete, up-to-date collection of SSPC standards, guides, specifications,
and other consensus documents for the cleaning and preparation
of steel and concrete surfaces, the selection and application of
protective coating systems, the composition and performance capabilities
of paints and coatings, and other materials, processes, and technologies.
 Available
in a sturdy three-ring binder and
on CD-ROM, the new Systems
and Specifications contains
over 120 different specifications, standards, guides, commentaries,
technology updates, joint technical reports, qualification procedures,
and other consensus documents developed and approved by SSPC technical
committees. Of these, more than 30 are new, revised, or recently
issued documents not contained in any previous edition. New
documents include recent technology updates and reports on coatings
and surfacings
for concrete, new contractor qualification procedures, a guide
to corporate safety programs for industrial painting contractors,
new performance-based coating and coating system specifications,
new and revised paint and coating application standards, a recently
published standard for commercial grade power tool cleaning, revised
guides for the containment and disposal of surface preparation
debris,
and others.
With over 120 individual documents and over 1000 pages, the new
edition of Systems
and Specifications is the
largest ever published. In part because of its size, but more
in response to an increasing number of requests from its members
and customers, SSPC has chosen to publish the print version in
a tab-indexed, three ring binder instead of in its traditional
hardcover binding. SSPC hopes that this new binding alternative
will provide users with quicker and easier access to the documents
they need, and will better enable them to add new and revised standards
as they become available. In addition to the new three-ring binder
format, the 2005 edition of Systems
and Specifications is
also available as a collection of fully-searchable, printable PDF
files on a multi-platform CD-ROM designed to run on Macintosh®,
Windows®, and UNIX® operating systems.

to Good
Painting Practice, SSPC Painting Manual,
Volume 1. Good
