Become an SSPC Industrial Affiliate
The Industrial Affiliate class of membership is especially designed for materials and equipment manufacturers, suppliers, consulting firms, and industrial painting contractors.
Industrial Affiliates will be awarded 82+ Flex Points with their membership package. Flex Points allow organizations to customize their membership with SSPC.

What makes an SSPC membership even more valuable to organizational members is the ability to customize a benefits package to suit your particular needs. By redeeming flexible benefit points, you get the most from your member dollar.
As an Organizational Member, your company receives Flex Points that can be used to offset the cost of:
- Adding more members to your roster (use 1 Flex Point per person instead of paying $100 for each additional member)
- Online or in-person/public training courses
- SSPC publications (use 4 Flex Points for any SSPC published book, regardless of the cost)
- The administration fee for one QP certification each year (use 5 Flex Points to receive a $250 discount)
- The registration fee for employees to attend the SSPC Coatings+ annual conference (use 5 Flex Points to receive 1 free registration, a $600-$950 savings)*

Council of Facility Owners (CFO) FAQs
Facility Owners are companies or agencies responsible for the maintenance of plants or structures that require the use of protective coatings for corrosion protection. Examples include: Chemical processing plants; petroleum refining, processing and distribution companies; mining companies; pulp and paper mills; oil or gas production companies (offshore or land-based); conventional or nuclear power plants; railcar manufacturers; federal, state and local bridge and highway departments; water departments; wastewater treatment facilities; food, beverage, and pharmaceutical companies; equipment and vehicle manufacturers; pipeline owners; and gas and electric utilities.
Typically, employees of Facility Owner members that participate in SSPC include coatings professionals who are directly responsible for the maintenance of coatings of heavy or light industrial structures and surfaces (e.g. engineers, maintenance specialists, plant managers, etc.).
Because the benefits of membership for suppliers and facility owners are slightly different, you should discuss your needs with Diane McGuire, SSPC’s Organizational Membership Specialist. For example, companies who wish to have access to SSPC for their maintenance operations would be better served with a CFO membership. Companies who wish to have access to SSPC for their sales and marketing operations would be better served with a standard Organizational Membership. Occasionally purchasing two memberships is recommended for companies in this situation. Because suppliers and facility owners represent two unique categories within SSPC’s bylaws, benefits that apply to one sometimes don’t apply to the other, even with the same company.
