SSPC Releases COVID-19 Safety Requirements Document as Live Training Returns

July 20, 2020

Pittsburgh, PA – As business activity begins to resume during the COVID-19 pandemic, SSPC understands that students may have concerns about the safety of participating in an in-person training course.

The safety of the students and instructors involved in SSPC training is of the utmost concern, and SSPC has developed a comprehensive plan based on the recommendations of the CDC and WHO to enable in-person training to take place. In addition, regionally presented courses will follow the recommendations of local governing entities regarding the safety and viability for holding courses.

Live courses will not proceed in any region until local authorities deem it safe to do so.

SSPC has issued requirements for in-person training that all hosts must follow. These requirements include items on Maintaining a Healthy Learning Environment through COVID-19. The document covers SSPC Host Facilities Detailed Guidance, including:

  • Policies and practices for social distancing
  • Building ventilation systems
  • Support respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene for students, instructors, and staff
  • Environmental cleaning and disinfection:
  • Students and Staff Actions to Reduce the Spread of COVID-19
